Daily Variety said the action would center on the early days of "Star Trek" characters James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock, including their first meeting at Starfleet Academy and first outer-space mission.The last movie in the series, Star Trek: Nemesis, opened December 13th, 2002 and made just over $43 million in theaters, with an estimated budget of $70 million.
