The Watertown Daily Times is reporting that the Towne Cinema in Watertown, Wisconsin will reopen under new management on Friday, May 6, 2011. The theater has been closed since December 2010, when former operator Steve Lind decided not to renew its lease. The new operator is Rosebud Entertainment LLC., which also operates the Rosebud Cinema Drafthouse and Times Theater in Milwaukee.

The article mentions that the theater will be doing a food drive on the opening weekend:

Towne Cinema in downtown Watertown will be celebrating its grandreopening with a food drive that will benefit the community.

The first movie that will be shown at the theater will be “Thor” onFriday at 12:01 a.m. Doors will open Thursday at 11:30 p.m.

Towne Cinema will also be showing “Thor,” “Fast Five” and the 1939classic “The Wizard of Oz” throughout the next week.

Those who donate at least two non-perishable food items andpurchase a ticket for “Thor” between Thursday night and Sunday willreceive a “buy one, get one free” voucher for a future screening.The food items will be donated to the Watertown Food Pantry.
