ABC 5 News in Des Moines, Iowa ran a story about the Valle Drive-In in Newton, Iowa and their goal of winning a free Digital Cinema projector in a promotion sponsored by Honda:

Valle Drive In in Newton is one of the only four drive in theaters left in Iowa. And in the next few months, they need an 80,000 dollar piece of equipment to stay open. But you can help.

Honda is sponsoring "Project Drive–In" to save these old school theaters by giving away five projectors. There are 100 theaters nationwide vying for them, so just go to projectdrivein.com click on the Newton Valle Drive-In and cast your vote.

The theater's Facebook page is quick to point out that the theater is not planning to close if they don't win the free projector, however. Getting the projector for free should go a long way towards keeping movies playing under the stars in Newton!
