Sony Pictures has released the first photographs of Andrew Garfield in costume as the new title character in the newly-named The Amazing Spider-Man, which is a reboot of the Spider-Man franchise that formerly starred Tobey Maguire in the lead role.

The movie will be released in theaters on Tuesday, July 3rd, 2012 in 2D, 3D, and IMAX, and features a cast that includes Garfield as Peter Parker, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, and Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard.
