Director Christopher Nolan has announced that the title of the next Batman movie (which we previously titled Batman 3), will be The Dark Knight Rises. The movie is scheduled to be released on on July 20, 2012, which we reported back in May.
Not many details have been released so far, but Nolan did say that the Riddler would not be the villain in this installment, and that it wouldn't be in 3D.
Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, and Michael Caine have all been listed as cast members, but no villian has been identified.
Bale has been quoted as saying that he will not be in a Batman movie that features Robin as a character.
