Are you aware that there's a new version of the 1982 Sci-Fi movie Tron coming out, called Tron: Legacy? If not, Disney is making sure that you will by the time it's released on December 17th, 2010 by engaging in a 10-week marketing push that includes an advance 3D preview in IMAX theaters on October 28th, weekly updates of the official web site, and even a special nighttime street event at Disney California Adventure™ Park.
The advance preview is being called TRON Night: An IMAX 3D Experience, and it will be held at select IMAX 3D theaters around the country. More details should become available tomorrow, October 12th, when free tickets to the event are available. Disney is marketing this event as "the first opportunity to step onto the Grid and into the cutting-edge, 3D world of Walt Disney Pictures' high-tech adventure TRON: Legacy, during an exciting 20-plus-minute sneak peek of the highly anticipated film." They sound very excited!
Select theaters now have showtimes available for opening day and the traditional Midnight screenings the night before, so check out the links below that correspond to the version of the movie you want to see:
If you want to see what all the excitement is about, we've got more than two dozen photos, several video clips and trailers, and lots more information for your viewing pleasure! As the studio starts pumping out the materials, we'll be adding them to these pages, so that you can get just as excited as Disney is about this movie!
