Based on the positive response it has received to initial previews, Disney has decided to move Tron Legacy up to the same December 17, 2010 release recently selected by Sony for The Green Hornet.

The movie was originally slated for a 2011 release, but the buzz that it generated at this year's Comic Con caused the studio to push it into 2010, according to some reports. I have to admit, the footage that appears on our Trailers & Videos page for the movie and the stills on the Photo Galleries page do make it look pretty appealing!

By contrast, Sony recently delayed The Green Hornet from its July 2010 release date, which is usually not a good sign for a movie. It's not likely they were hoping for a nod from the Academy Awards, so the move was probably an evasive one that may have to be made yet again. Pity Seth Rogen if he gets shifted to the end of January...
