Blu-ray Cover Artwork - Copyright 2015 Universal Studios. All Rights Reserved.Universal Pictures Home Entertainment announced today that Crimson Peak is coming to Blu-ray, DVD, and on-demand February 9, 2016, and streaming "Digital HD" January 26, 2016.

The movie was directed by Guillermo del Toro and stars Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston, Charlie Hunnam. Wasikowska plays a sheltered young woman who is drawn to an alluring aristocrat (Hiddleston) who lives on a remote English estate with his sister (Chastain). She soon learns the secrets of the estate, and they will haunt her forever. It opened in the #4 spot in the Box Office to average reviews, but only stuck around for three weeks before dropping off.

It opened in theaters October 16th, 2015, which comes to 116 days. That's a little longer than the usual ~100 days for many releases, but given that the streaming release comes to 102 days, that's still in line with traditional release windows.

The Blu-ray Combo Pack will include a DVD and Digital HD and will feature a DTS:X soundtrack on the Blu-ray disc, which makes it the fourth Blu-ray title to have the new immersive sound format. Firmware for the receivers that support the format is still forthcoming, and is expected around the beginning of 2016, which should be timed nicely for this release. (You can see a complete list of releases on the DTS:X Resources page in our Help section.)
