Do You Publish Advance Showtimes?

Last Updated on August 16, 2021

We display the showtimes information as soon as it is provided to us by each theater.

Usually, theaters prepare their schedules early in the week, and we begin receiving schedules for the upcoming week in the updates on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Some theaters, however, do not supply their schedules until the Friday update.

How far in advance showtimes are published is dependent upon the theater, since our system is capable of displaying advance showtime information weeks in advance.

That's usually not practical, however, since theaters need to receive information from their distributors in order to do their scheduling, and the upcoming week's schedule can change from Monday to Friday (which is why we do multiple daily updates).

Exceptions do exist to this, however. In the cases of highly anticipated movies, movie theaters will publish their showtimes for opening weekend well in advance. We've seen showtimes up to two months beforehand, with the ability to sell online tickets.

If you are looking forward to a certain movie being released, and you want to get a jump on advance tickets when they become available for a theater near you (or one of your favorite theaters, be sure to add that movie as a Favorite Movie so that it will be easy for you to check on showtimes when you visit The BigScreen Cinema Guide!
