\"The Blues Brothers\" is part comedy, part musical and part chase movie. It inspired the SNL characters of Elwood and Jake Blues, played by Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi. They played two blues singers upon released from prision as the movie opens. They went to their old school where they must get the money to keep it open. Both Ayroyd and Belushi are not only funny but the chemistry between the two are fun to watch. There are some musical numbers and appearances from Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles and James Brown. This film is also John Landis\' best film ever. I admired the music numbers and at the end that chase scene though the street of Chicago is cinema history. This is a very funny movie and one of the best comedies ever made. At the end, they\'d played \"Jailhouse Rock\" and everyone including the cast joined in.

Widely regarded highly, and with good reason. Many people quote and/or refer to this movie and may not even know it.

That said, this movie is a product of its time, and it should be viewed as such. With that firmly in mind, this is a fun movie. It’s a wild ride best enjoyed by hanging on and watching the antics of two guys running amok on a “mission from God” as they try to get their band back together to raise money to save their childhood orphanage.
