Colonial Theatre
more »163 High Street Belfast, ME 04915 Originally opened in Apr 1915. Destroyed by fire in 1923 but was rebuilt and reopened in 1924. A major renovation was done in 1947, which added the current stucco facade. In 1995 the Colonial Theatre was purchased by local residents, Therese Bagnardi and Michael Hurley, from the second generation of theatre-operating Kursons who at 80 years old, were quite ready to retire. Closed in Sep 2022. Reopened in Nov 2023 by Hawthorne Theatre & Arts Collaborative.
