216 South Main Street Urbana, OH 43078 Message: 937-653-4342 more » aka Chakeres Urbana Cinema 1 & 2, Chakeres Urbana Twin Cinema Opened on October 18, 1904 as the Clifford Theater, which was destroyed by fire in 1918. It was purchased by Warren Grimes and opened on Christmas Day 1941 as the Gloria Theatre (named after his youngest daughter). The theater was sold to Chakeres Cinemas in 1966. It was twinned in 1977 and named the Chakeres Urbana Twin Cinema. It closed in 2013. It was purchased in 2014 by the Urbana United Methodist Church and the GrandWorks Foundation was formed to operate the theater. It opened as the Gloria Theatre in 2014 or 2015.
