State Theater
233 State Street Ann Arbor, MI 48104 Opened in 1942. Converted to 4 screens in 1977 by Butterfield Theater Corporation. Sold to Tom Borders in 1987, who turned the main floor into retail space and closed the balcony. In 1992 the balcony was converted into a two-screen second-run theater. Purchased by MTF in 2014 and closed in 2016 for renovations. Opened in Dec 2017, it opened as a four-screen theater.
